RICHARD MEAD ARPS was born in South London, United Kingdom. He works as a photographer, curator and lecturer. Having completed a Bachelor of Arts in photography, Richard is now undertaking a Master of Arts in photojournalism and Documentary Photography. He began his career as a photographer in 2019, after having spent his early twenties working for the emergency services.
Through his work, Richard has always strived to help and empower other people. His professional work is a documentary practice, with his personal projects focussing on mental health, advocacy and using art and the camera as a form of therapy.
